Yellow Shuttle Co. needed a robust enterprise CAD to enable its hold and to enable growth with its current business strategy. The "Instant on" deployment of the SmartDIspatch Cloud Solution helped it accomplish this complex feat with poise and transparency.
Finally this SD Cloud implementation had to align with current business goals of Yellow Shuttle Co, which was to expand its operations to 800 vehicles over the next 18-24 months.
Yellow Shuttle Co. is a taxi service company and a long standing member of the Taxicab Limosine & Paratransit Association (TLPA). With a strong presence in the Miami, FL area, Yellow Shuttle Co serves approximately 4,500 passengers a day. Running a 24-7 operation serving 1.6 million rides annually, the company is one of the largest privately owned taxicab service provider in the US.
Through the implementation of the SD/2000 system, Yellow Shuttle Co, moved from a decentralized system to a centralized system utilizing the latest IT systems available at that time. It introduced a SD/2000 advanced CAD solution to reduce the strains of order taking and dispatching.
All of this activity served as a prelude to the SmartDispatch Cloud Solution. Yellow Shuttle Co was and continues to be an early adopter of new technology offered by SmartDispatch. Therefore allowing growth in an ever expanding enterprise. In fact there was a whole range of strategic imperatives that touched the operation in all facets, and most of these could benefit from the software integration from the new SmartDispatch Cloud Solution. The sum of those considerations led to a complete transformation of the information systems, processes, and people at Yellow Shuttle Co.
The selection of SmartDispatch to provide the products and services necessary to meet these objectives was based on some pivotalconsiderations, in particular, integration and the consequential lower total cost of ownership.
The selection of SmartDispatch to provide the products and services necessary to meet these objectives was based on some pivotal considerations, in particular, integration and the consequential lower total cost of ownership. At the end of the day, if you want end-to-end processes, you need integration rather than individual best-of-breed applications. Integration also has implications of flexibility and ability to change your process and to add new capabilities.
First, we wanted to implement an integrated CAD that would be seamless and transparent to its 900+ fleet drivers. That entailed replacing a 20-year-old legacy system. Another objective was not just to design and implement new processes but realign our approach from functional areas to cross-functional, end-to-end processes. That means we had to review all processes developed during previous SmartDispatch projects to make sure we had an end-to-end approach for everything. The processes impacted by SmartDispatch Cloud included, continued driver side email/SMS
communication, accounting integration to existing accounting mainframe computers, dispatch operation, and human resources management.
The SmartDispatch Cloud solution allowed Yellow Shuttle Co to migrate their complete operation with zero downtime in an instant-on implementation, transparent transition for drivers, accounting, and human resources, and set the stage for the following implementation of the Android applications to drivers over time.
The emphasis on integration provided Yellow Shuttle Co with a considerable incentive to remain with SmartDispatch in the next phase of IT development. The SmartDispatch products and services implemented as part of the SmartDispatch Cloud solution will continue aid Yellow Shuttle Co towards their business goals.
